Common questions about our process, pricing, technologies, and what it's like to work with us. If you don't see your question here, just ask.
DoodleWeb is a Seattle-based digital studio that designs, builds, and continuously improves high-performance websites and web apps. We specialize in Drupal, WordPress, Webflow, Shopify, and custom React builds, plus AI search visibility (AEO/GEO) through our SiteSonar platform. We serve higher education, government, nonprofits, aerospace, healthcare, and growing B2B companies across North America.
Our headquarters are in Seattle, WA at Columbia Tower, 701 5th Ave, 42nd Floor, Seattle, WA 98104. We work with clients across the United States and Canada, both remote and on-site.
Since 2019. We've grown from a small team into a 30-person agency with 120+ clients and 300+ projects shipped, ranging from marketing microsites to multi-year enterprise Drupal migrations.
We start with your goals and budget, not a sales pitch. We push back when something won't work, deliver against measurable outcomes (Core Web Vitals, conversion, AI visibility), and stay invested after launch. Every engagement includes a 90-day post-launch roadmap so results compound instead of decaying.
DoodleWeb is an independent, founder-led studio. Our leadership team includes senior engineers, designers, and strategists with 10+ years each in Drupal, WordPress, Shopify, and modern JavaScript ecosystems. Learn more on our About page.
Email info@doodleweb.io, use the contact form, or book a 30-minute discovery call directly through Calendly. We respond to new inquiries within one business day.
Yes. Most of our clients are in the United States and Canada, but we've shipped work for teams in the UK, EU, Australia, and India. All engagements are contracted through our US entity.
DoodleWeb works with any budget. Our job is to find the best solution for your goals and budget. We ask the right questions and help you decide what you actually need, rather than selling you a website you do not need. For a smaller budget, we can take a templated approach, improve your existing site, or phase the work. We offer multiple suitable options, explain the tradeoffs, and agree on the scope and price before work begins.
Yes. Most projects are structured 30/40/30 or 25/50/25 against clear milestones (design sign-off, staging, launch). Maintenance, hosting, and AEO/GEO retainers bill monthly. Enterprise engagements can be structured quarterly.
Core updates, security patching, daily backups, uptime monitoring, performance tuning, minor content updates, and a guaranteed response SLA. Plans start at $1,500/month and scale with site complexity, traffic, and integrations. See the Maintenance Plans page for tiers.
Both. Design and build projects are always fixed-fee against a signed SOW so you know the number before we start. Ongoing work (retainers, staff aug, small change requests) is billed hourly at published rates, typically $150–$195/hr depending on skill set.
Small in-scope tweaks are absorbed. Anything that changes the SOW gets a written change order with cost and timeline impact before we touch it. No surprises on the final invoice.
Yes. Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofits and accredited higher-education institutions receive preferred pricing and extended payment terms. We also apply grant-friendly billing schedules when needed.
Marketing sites: 6–10 weeks. CMS rebuilds: 10–16 weeks. Enterprise platforms and migrations: 16–32 weeks. AEO/GEO Phase 1 foundation: 4–6 weeks. Every proposal includes a milestone-based timeline with 30/60/90-day checkpoints.
Six phases: (1) Discover — goals, audience, audit; (2) Strategize — roadmap, IA, tech stack; (3) Design — visual direction and interactive prototypes; (4) Develop — build in tight loops with weekly demos; (5) Launch — QA, accessibility pass, deployment, training; (6) Support — post-launch measurement and iteration.
Yes. You get a shared Slack or Teams channel with the engineers, designers, and PM on your project. No account managers playing telephone.
A 30–45 minute discovery call, followed by a detailed quote within two business days: a written scope-of-work, fixed fee, milestone timeline, and payment schedule. Nothing starts without a signed SOW and a kickoff call.
Weekly demos, a shared Figma file, a staging URL from week two, sprint notes, and a running risk log. At launch you get documentation, training videos, admin walkthroughs, and a 30/60/90-day support plan.
We baseline before we start (traffic, Core Web Vitals, conversion, AI citation share) and re-measure at 30/60/90 days after launch. Every engagement ties to a business outcome — pipeline, applications, donations, or organic visibility — not vanity metrics.
Drupal (Drupal Certified Bronze Partner and Acquia Community Partner), WordPress (WP Engine Advanced Agency Partner), Shopify (Shopify Select Partner), and Webflow (Webflow Certified Partner). We recommend the platform that fits your team, budget, and content model. Not the one easiest to sell.
Yes. We build production React and Next.js apps, TanStack Start apps, and Node/TypeScript backends on Supabase, PostgreSQL, and serverless runtimes. Recent work includes SaaS dashboards, member portals, and integration middleware.
Yes. Cross-platform apps in React Native, and native iOS/Android when the use case demands it (offline-first, deep hardware integration, high-frequency payments). Most B2B and content apps run beautifully in React Native.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) are the practices of getting cited inside AI answers on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. It's the new SEO. We audit your site for AI crawlers, restructure content for answer extraction, and track your visibility across the major LLMs weekly through SiteSonar.
SiteSonar is our proprietary AI visibility platform. It monitors how your brand appears across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and AI Overviews, tracks citation share against competitors, and surfaces the exact pages, prompts, and gaps that need attention. It ships as a service inside every AEO/GEO engagement.
Yes. We deploy on WP Engine, Acquia, Pantheon, Kinsta, Cloudflare, Vercel, and AWS. We can manage the hosting relationship, set up CI/CD, IaC, staging pipelines, and 24/7 monitoring, or hand it clean to your internal team.
Every launch targets green Core Web Vitals (LCP <2.5s, INP <200ms, CLS <0.1) on real-user data, not just Lighthouse. We use edge caching, image optimization, code-splitting, and server-side rendering where it moves the needle.
Yes. We regularly integrate HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Slate, Workday, NetSuite, Stripe, and custom APIs. We're a HubSpot Certified Partner.
Roughly 60% of Google searches now end without a click, and buyers are increasingly starting research in ChatGPT and Perplexity. If your brand isn't cited inside AI answers, you're invisible for a growing share of high-intent queries. AEO/GEO addresses this directly.
SEO optimizes for keyword rankings and click-through from a results page. AEO optimizes for citation and inclusion inside AI-generated answers. That requires different content structure (question-shaped H2s, factual density, schema), different technical signals (crawlability for GPTBot/ClaudeBot/PerplexityBot, llms.txt), and different measurement (share of voice inside LLM outputs).
SiteSonar runs weekly probes of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and AI Overviews on your priority prompts. We track citation frequency, citation position, sentiment, competitor share, and prompt coverage. You see the exact answers, the URLs cited, and the gaps.
First citations typically appear in 4–8 weeks. Meaningful share-of-voice movement takes 90–120 days. LLM training and retrieval cycles are slower and less predictable than Google's, which is why we ship in monthly cycles.
Yes — each has different retrieval behavior. ChatGPT leans on Bing and its retrieval index. Perplexity crawls live and cites heavily. Gemini blends Google's index with Overviews. Claude relies on a smaller citation set. We tune content, schema, and off-site signals for each.
Question-shaped H2s, direct answers in the first 40 words of each section, structured facts (numbers, dates, sources), FAQPage schema, comparison tables, and clear entity definitions. We provide a content playbook and can either train your team or produce content in-house.
Yes. Every site we ship is designed and tested to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We run automated audits (axe, Lighthouse), manual keyboard and screen-reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS), and color-contrast validation before launch.
Yes. We offer standalone accessibility audits ($4,500–$18,000 depending on site size) covering WCAG 2.2 AA, Section 508, AODA, and EN 301 549. Deliverables include a prioritized remediation roadmap, code-level fixes, and optional VPAT/ACR.
Yes. We author VPAT 2.5 Rev 508 and WCAG 2.2 conformance reports for products and websites. Higher ed, government, and enterprise procurement teams use these for RFP responses.
An audit identifies and documents issues. Remediation actually fixes them in code and content. We can do either or both. Remediation is billed hourly ($150–$195/hr) or as a fixed sprint depending on scope.
Yes. Recent accessibility engagements include George Brown College (AODA and WCAG 2.2 AA remediation), Trinity Western University, and Ursa Major. Case studies are on the Work page.
Yes. Monthly monitoring starts at $1,500/month and includes automated scans, quarterly manual audits, remediation of new issues, and a compliance dashboard.
Higher education (colleges and universities), government and public sector, nonprofits and NGOs, healthcare and life sciences, aerospace and defense, professional services, SaaS and B2B tech, and DTC retail on Shopify.
Yes — extensive. We've shipped Drupal builds, migrations, and AI visibility programs for colleges and universities across the US and Canada, including George Brown College and Trinity Western University. See our Higher Ed cluster and case studies.
Yes. We build for municipal, state, and federal-adjacent agencies with a focus on Drupal, Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 AA compliance, plain-language content, and FedRAMP-adjacent hosting when required.
Yes. We design donation-optimized nonprofit sites with recurring giving, campaign pages, donor portals, and integrations to CRMs like Salesforce NPSP, Bloomerang, and Raiser's Edge. See our nonprofit blog cluster for benchmarks and tactics.
Yes. As a Shopify Partner we build Shopify and Shopify Plus stores, custom themes, headless commerce on Hydrogen, and integrations with ERPs, subscription apps, and fulfillment. See our Shopify Plus Partner page.
DoodleWeb is a Drupal Certified Bronze Partner, WP Engine Advanced Agency Partner, Acquia Community Partner, HubSpot Solutions Partner, Webflow Certified Partner, Shopify Select Partner, and Certified Lovable Solution Partner. These are relationships with platforms we use in client delivery, not a substitute for showing you the work. Our Partners page links to the platform directories so you can check the source.
A paid logo placement is not proof of technical expertise. Our platform credentials should be checked against the issuing platform's requirements and official directory, alongside the work we have delivered. Certification, partner status, community membership, and review awards mean different things. Some programs include fees or commercial requirements, so we do not claim that every badge is impossible to buy. We show the source and the client proof rather than asking you to trust a logo alone.
DoodleWeb's Drupal Certified Bronze Partner status is listed by the Drupal Association. It recognizes contribution to the Drupal ecosystem. For your project, we pair that recognition with practical Drupal engineering, migrations, accessibility work, and ongoing support. Acquia Community Partner is a separate platform relationship, not the name of our Drupal certification.
No. DoodleWeb is part of the Drupal AI Initiative and a Silver member, helping top organizations in the initiative and supporting the community work bringing AI to Drupal. This is separate from our Drupal Certified Partner status. Membership shows our involvement in the initiative. It does not certify every AI feature or replace senior engineering review of your project.
They relate to the platforms we actually build and support. WP Engine supports our WordPress hosting and migration work. Shopify Select relates to ecommerce delivery, Webflow Certified to Webflow websites, HubSpot Solutions to CRM and marketing integrations, and Lovable certification to apps built on Lovable. We still ask the right questions and recommend what fits your goals and budget. A partner badge is not a reason to sell you a platform you do not need.
Read our public Clutch and GoodFirms profiles for client reviews, project context, and feedback about working with us. These provide a different kind of evidence from platform certifications: the client's delivery experience. Compare the review details with your own project needs and our case studies rather than relying only on a star rating or an award badge.
Our clients include Berklee College of Music, George Brown College, Young Americans Center, Ursa Major, Scholten Equipment, and Shubug. Our published case studies describe the work, not just the client logo. For example, Young Americans Center's case study covers a WordPress platform on WP Engine that brings its youth bank and educational programs into one shared website system. Ask us for examples relevant to your industry and scope.
No badge or past review can guarantee a future project's results. They are useful trust signals when backed by relevant work. We start with your goals, constraints, and budget, explain suitable options, and agree on the scope and success criteria.
